About Me
I am a dedicated economics educator and an active researcher, primarily in political economy and economic history.
My scholarly work has been published in Explorations in Economic History and featured in Cato Institute Research Briefs in Economic Policy. In the popular press, I have written for The Conversation. For more information on my published writings and current paper drafts, check out my Research page.
I also love teaching the economic way of thinking to students at all levels, and have experience teaching both introductory and upper level economics courses. This Fall, I am teaching the third iteration of my Principles of Macroeconomics course and my first section of Intermediate Macroeconomics. In the Spring, I will teach Principles of Microeconomics and offer a newly designed elective—Development Economics. For course descriptions and syllabi, check out my Teaching page.
I also care deeply about communicating economic insights about pressing policy issues, and have experience giving policy presentations to local organizations.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, live music, video games, television & cinema, and—most of all—spending time doing these activities with my wife Victoria and our miniature dachshund Stanley.
